About Laura Lofgreen
Finding time to write doesn’t come
easy for me, (hey, neither does a clean house and well-behaved kids) but using my imagination does. I
develop plots and twists while doing the dishes and when I have my own personal struggles, I see the word
through the eyes of my fictional characters. What has happened to me? I have become a writer and
it has changed the way I look at the world. I have now written three novels (and counting) and
published a memoir titled The Memory Catcher (Spring Creek Books).
My other interests include shopping at thrift stores and yard sales. I blog
about the amazing and sometimes strange things I find and how I turn trash to treasure. My Dear Trash
(www.mydeartrash.com) has almost a million hits; the most
popular being before and after of my vintage furniture make-over’s. I am also an avid reader, but with five
children finding time to read takes some creativity. That is why most days you can find me at the gym reading
a great book while bouncing up and down on the elliptical machine.
I am a published author in newspapers and magazines, a member of The Society for
Children’s Book Writer & Illustrators, American Night Writers Association and Arizona Outreach Coordinator for
the Children’s Health Environmental Coalition. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Communication from Arizona State
University, where I worked as Environmental Issues Director. I write daily on my blog and continue to have dreams
that inspire my next novel.
